After a death in Oklahoma
Where to look for a will, who to ask and where to search for money in Oklahoma.
The will
Which court handles probate
The district court of the county handles probate (Oklahoma has no separate probate court).
"thirty days after receipt of information that the maker thereof is dead, must deliver the same to the district court having jurisdiction of the estate"
What to do with the original will
Every custodian of a will must deliver it to the district court having jurisdiction of the estate, or to the named executor, within 30 days after learning the maker has died. Failing to do so makes the person responsible for damages.
